At Wise Aesthetics in Carmel, IN, we offer chemical peels that use a combination of exfoliating acids to improve the skin. These peels come in different strengths and can help patients with all different skin types and conditions achieve healthier skin. When scheduled regularly, our peels promote cellular turnover, keep the skin free of dead skin cells and buildup, and promote glowing, uniform, beautiful skin.
What Are Chemical Peels?
Chemical peels are professional cosmetic treatments that chemically exfoliate and improve the feel and appearance of the skin. Each peel contains a specific combination of acids that work together to dissolve the layers of the skin at different depths based on the strength of that peel. We offer both superficial and medium-depth peels.
Superficial Peels
Superficial peels work by dissolving the uppermost layer of the skin and require the least downtime. They are a good option for patients looking for light exfoliation, those who have never undergone a peel before, or those who want to address minor skin concerns. Superficial peels can treat hyperpigmentation, reduce the appearance of light lines and wrinkles, treat adult acne, and promote smoother skin and a more even skin texture.
Medium-Depth Peels
Medium-depth peels extend deeper into the skin to treat more advanced skin concerns, including acne, sun damage, skin damage, and moderate to severe lines and wrinkles. Since they’re stronger than superficial peels, patients need to plan on minimal downtime after treatment and may experience peeling, which is a normal reaction that indicates your body is responding to the treatment and regenerating healthier skin tissue.
Our Chemical Peels
Rejuvenize Peel – $200
The Rejuvenize Peel is designed to treat visible signs of aging, including fine lines and wrinkles. Its concentrated combination of skin-safe acids will promote a smoother skin texture, visibly reducing fine lines and wrinkles.
Patients can expect to see visible improvements in their skin after just one peel, and the results will be even more dramatic after undergoing three to six treatments. We offer packages that allow patients to save money on a series of three peels.
Vitalize Peel – $150
The Vitalize Peel is one of our chemical peels that can improve skin texture by promoting smoother skin and eliminating roughness. It can also treat the early signs of aging, including fine lines and wrinkles, and promote skin health. Patients can expect noticeable results after just one peel and more dramatic results after undergoing three to six peels. We also offer Vitalize Peel packages that can help patients save money on a series of three treatments.
While the face is the most commonly requested treatment area, we can apply a chemical peel to the hands or neck to reverse aging, address and correct imperfections, and promote skin health. Patients can schedule a treatment to address one or all three areas as needed. Some of the skin types and conditions our peels can treat include the following:
- Aging, normal, combination, and sensitive skin
- Acne-prone skin
- Hyperpigmentation
- Lines and wrinkles
- Skin laxity
- Skin texture irregularities
- Uneven skin tone
- Dull skin
- Oily or congested skin
During your chemical peel, we’ll apply a chemical solution to your treatment area. Based on whether we apply a superficial or medium-depth peel, it will exfoliate the very top layer or deeper into the mid-dermal layers. The process takes minutes to complete. As soon as the chemical solution has effectively exfoliated your skin, we will remove it and complete the treatment.
We can add chemical peels to facials and other skincare treatments to enhance the results or schedule a peel as a standalone treatment. If you’re interested in a chemical peel as an add-on, we can help determine which will enhance your skin care treatments and help you achieve better skin.
You won’t have to plan around downtime after your chemical peel, but we will need to follow the post-treatment care instructions. After your treatment, the newly exposed layer of skin will be more sensitive. For that reason, you must avoid direct sun exposure and wear quality sunscreen daily.
It’s also important to temporarily discontinue the use of topical exfoliating products, since using physical or chemical exfoliators at home will further irritate your skin and slow the recovery process. We can provide product recommendations that you can use post-treatment to ensure your skin stays hydrated and nourished after your chemical peel.
After your treatment, your skin will heal and begin to regenerate. You may see some initial results after your first treatment, but the best results appear as your body heals the skin in the days and weeks following. Newer and younger tissue will replace damaged tissue, causing the skin to appear younger and healthier. The new skin will appear smoother, less wrinkled, and may exhibit less visible skin damage.
Your treatment results can last weeks at a time, but because the skin regularly regenerates approximately every 30 days, most patients benefit from monthly treatments to provide their skin with the chemical exfoliation necessary to eliminate dead skin cells, prevent buildup and debris from blocking the pores, and continue to target various skin concerns.
Am I a Candidate?
If you want an exfoliating treatment that can address stubborn skin concerns, reverse the aging process, treat sun damage, and promote optimal skin health, you may be a good candidate for one of our chemical peels.
If you’re unsure whether you qualify for a superficial or medium-depth peel, we can determine which is right for you during an initial consultation. We’ll meet with you to discuss your concerns, evaluate your skin, give you more details about our peels, and determine which will meet your needs.
