Botox & Wrinkle Relaxers
How long does Botox last?
The effects of Botox typically last around three to four months. However, the duration may vary depending on individual metabolism, the treated area, and the number of units administered.
How long does Botox take to work?
While individual experiences may vary, most individuals start noticing the effects of Botox within a few days to a week after the treatment. The full results gradually emerge over the following weeks.
Can Botox and wrinkle relaxers be combined with other treatments the same day?
Yes! Botox can be combined with other cosmetic treatments to achieve more comprehensive results. During your consultation, we will assess your needs and goals to recommend the most suitable treatment plan.
Who is Botox best for?
Botox injections have become increasingly popular among those looking to address the signs of aging. Ideal candidates for this treatment generally have repetitive facial muscle movements that lead to dynamic wrinkles, such as frown lines, forehead creases, and crow’s feet.
Botox also offers a non-surgical solution for those seeking to reduce the signs of aging. However, underlying medical conditions, allergies, and medication usage may affect candidacy. Therefore, it is essential to consult with us to assess your suitability for Botox treatment.
We will evaluate your unique needs and goals during the consultation, examine your skin type, and discuss your medical history. Our personalized assessment will ensure that Botox is the proper treatment for your needs, guiding you every step to ensure your safety, comfort, and satisfaction.
Are there any side effects?
Headache, minor bruising, or swelling at the injection site are the most common, but still rare, side effects.
What is a lip flip?
A lip flip is when neuromodulators (aka "wrinkles relaxers") are injected into the upper lip. This causes the muscles that pull the top lip down to gently release and "flip," making the lip appear more full.
Dermal Fillers
Who can get dermal filler?
Dermal filler is safe for all skin types & tones. We recommend it for those looking to add volume and definition to their face
How long do dermal fillers last?
Dermal filler can last anywhere from 6-18 months, depending on the type of filler used, along with your aesthetic goals and treatment areas. For example, in an area like the lips (which you move regularly), filler will dissolve more quickly, lasting for 6-9 months. In other areas—like the cheeks or jawline—filler can last between 12-18 months.
What do injections of dermal filler feel like?
A dermal filler treatment is generally well-tolerated and designed to minimize discomfort. To ensure your comfort, we apply an ice pack before and after the procedure, which helps reduce any swelling or sensitivity. For added relief, we may use a topical anesthetic to gently numb the treatment area, depending on your specific needs. If you're concerned about discomfort, please call or text our office at 317-569-6448. However, it's important to avoid ibuprofen (Advil) or other blood-thinning medications, as they can increase the risk of bruising. Our team prioritizes your comfort every step of the way to make the experience as seamless as possible.
Is there any downtime?
You will experience redness, swelling, and potentially bruising for up to 1-2 weeks after getting dermal filler. This will begin to subside a few days after treatment. Full results appear within 2 weeks.
What is Hyaluronic Acid (HA)?
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally-occuring compound produced by the body that helps retain moisture and keeps skin plump & hydrated. You may recognize this compound from serums and moisturizers, as it's a popular humectant—it pulls water into skin and can hold 1000x its weight in water. It's the main ingredient in dermal filler and its soft, gel-like form makes it easy to create natural-looking results.
Are there any side effects?
Dermal filler injections are generally safe when performed by an experienced professional, but like any cosmetic procedure, they may have some temporary side effects. Common side effects include mild swelling, redness, bruising, or tenderness at the injection site, which usually resolve within a few days. In rare cases, small lumps, unevenness, or slight discoloration can occur, but these are typically correctable.
More serious complications, such as infection, allergic reactions, or vascular occlusion, are extremely rare and can often be avoided by choosing a skilled injector. At Wise Aesthetics, our team takes every precaution to minimize risks, including a thorough consultation to ensure dermal fillers are right for you. We also provide detailed aftercare instructions to help you achieve the best possible results with minimal downtime.
If you have any concerns about potential side effects, we’re here to guide you every step of the way.
Can I get dermal fillers while pregnant or breastfeeding?
No, this treatment is not suitable while pregnant or breastfeeding.
Can I work out right after the treatment?
It’s best to avoid intense exercise or activities that increase blood flow to the face for 24-48 hours after treatment. This precaution helps minimize swelling, bruising, and the risk of shifting the product or threads. Light activities like walking are typically fine, but we’ll provide detailed aftercare instructions tailored to your specific treatment.
Collagen Stimulators
What are Collagen Stimulators?
Collagen stimulators are treatments designed to promote your body’s natural collagen production, which helps restore volume, improve skin texture, and create a more youthful appearance. Unlike traditional dermal fillers that provide immediate volume, collagen stimulators work gradually over time to rebuild and strengthen the skin’s foundation. Examples include Sculptra, which uses poly-L-lactic acid; Hyperdilute Radiesse, a calcium-based filler; Plasma Injections using eZ Gel and PDO Threads, which lift and stimulate collagen synthesis.
Who can get Collagen Stimulators?
Collagen stimulators are ideal for individuals looking to improve skin laxity, restore lost volume, and enhance skin texture without dramatic or immediate changes. They are suitable for most healthy adults who want a more natural-looking result over time. However, they may not be recommended for individuals with certain medical conditions, allergies, or those who are pregnant or breastfeeding. During your consultation, we’ll evaluate your medical history and goals to determine if collagen stimulators are the right option for you.
How long do the results last?
The results from collagen stimulators are long-lasting but vary depending on the treatment:
- Sculptra: Results develop gradually over a few months and can last up to 2-3 years.
- Hyperdilute Radiesse: Effects are typically visible within weeks and can last 12-18 months.
- PDO Threads: The lifting effect is immediate, but collagen production continues for several months, with results lasting up to 1-2 years.
Maintaining results often requires periodic touch-ups or repeat treatments, which we’ll customize based on your needs.
Is there any downtime?
Downtime is minimal for most collagen stimulator treatments:
- Sculptra and Hyperdilute Radiesse: You may experience mild swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection site, which typically resolves within a few days.
- PDO Threads: There may be some tenderness, swelling, or bruising, and in rare cases, mild puckering of the skin, which usually subsides within a week.
Most patients return to their normal routine immediately or within 24-48 hours, depending on the specific treatment and their comfort level.
Are there any side effects?
Side effects are usually mild and temporary. They can include:
- Redness, swelling, or bruising at the treatment site
- Mild tenderness or soreness
- Temporary lumps or bumps, which typically soften with time or massage (if instructed)
Rare complications, such as infection or asymmetry, are minimized by choosing a trained and experienced provider. At Wise Aesthetics, we take every precaution to ensure your safety and optimal results.
Can I work out right after this treatment?
It’s best to avoid intense exercise or activities that increase blood flow to the face for 24-48 hours after treatment. This precaution helps minimize swelling, bruising, and the risk of shifting the product or threads. Light activities like walking are typically fine, but we’ll provide detailed aftercare instructions tailored to your specific treatment.
Hydrafacial™
Who is Hydrafacial™ best for?
Hydrafacial™ is safe for all skin types and tones, and works best to help with hydration, rejuvenation, tone, texture, detoxification, sensitivity, and congestion.
When will I see results?
Your skin will feel hydrated and look cleaner, brighter, and healthier after your treatment. Concerns such as hyperpigmentation, congested skin, or acne may take longer to treat, but clients usually see an improvement after a series of 3-5 treatments.
Can I get this treatment if I am currently taking Accutane?
Please wait at least 6 months after you complete Accutane (or other Isotretinoin products) before receiving a Hydrafacial™.
Can my teenager get a Hydrafacial™?
Hydrafacial™ is a fantastic treatment option for individuals aged 16 and older. However, we are unable to treat anyone under 16, and parental consent is required for clients aged 16 or 17.
What other treatments can I pair with Hydrafacial to improve results?
Hydrafacial™ is an excellent way to prepare your skin for more advanced treatments, enhancing their effectiveness and results. It’s particularly beneficial before procedures such as Moxi, VI Peel®, or VirtueRF Microneedling. We recommend scheduling your Hydrafacial™ 1–2 weeks prior to these treatments to optimize your skin’s condition and ensure the best outcomes.
If you're looking to pair your Hydrafacial™ with other treatments on the same day, Botox® & Wrinkle Relaxers or Dermal Fillers are great options, as they can be performed immediately following your facial. This combination can leave your skin glowing and rejuvenated while addressing your aesthetic goals in one convenient visit.
Our team can guide you in creating a personalized treatment plan to maximize your results.
Can I get injectables on the same day?
Yes, you can get a Hydrafacial™ and injectables on the same day, but your Hydrafacial™ appointment must come before that of any injectable. If you’ve recently received an injectable, you’ll need to wait at least 2 weeks before receiving other facial treatments.
Can I work out immediately after?
Please refrain from strenuous exercise for at least 24 hours after your treatment.
Can I get a Hydrafacial™ if I have allergies?
While most allergens will not interfere with Hydrafacial™, if you are allergic to shellfish, we advise that you do not receive this treatment. There are active ingredients involved in the facial that are known to set off an allergic reaction for those who have a shellfish intolerance. If you're curious, schedule a consultation with one of our providers to chat about a very pared down version of the treatment which can work for you and your needs.

How soon will I see results?

How does BioTE® work?
BioTE® uses bioidentical hormone pellets made from natural plant-derived ingredients. These pellets are inserted just beneath the skin, where they gradually release hormones into the bloodstream.
