Your Treatment Journey

What to expect

From the moment you walk through our doors to the days and weeks following your visit, we’re here to guide you every step of the way. Explore what to expect before, during, and after your treatment, including anticipated results and recommended treatment frequency—so you can feel confident, prepared, and excited for your transformation.

Before Your Treatment

Avoid Sun Exposure
Avoid direct sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanning products for at least 2 weeks before treatment.
Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) daily on the treatment area.

Shave the Treatment Area
Shave the treatment area 24 hours prior to your appointment. Avoid waxing, plucking, or threading for at least 4-6 weeks, as the hair follicle must be intact for the laser to target it.

Discontinue Certain Products
Stop using retinoids, glycolic acids, or other exfoliating products on the treatment area for at least 5 days before your session.

Avoid Skin Irritants
Refrain from using creams, lotions, deodorants, or makeup on the treatment area on the day of your appointment.

Discuss Medications
Inform your provider of any medications or medical conditions, especially if you’re taking photosensitizing medications or have a history of cold sores.

During Your Treatment

Preparation
The treatment area will be cleansed, and if needed, a topical numbing cream may be applied for comfort.

The Procedure
A handheld laser device will deliver pulses of laser energy to the treatment area. This energy is absorbed by the hair follicles, disabling their ability to grow.
Some devices use cooling technology to minimize discomfort.

Sensations
Most patients describe the sensation as a mild stinging or snapping, similar to a rubber band against the skin. The discomfort is typically brief and tolerable.

Duration
The treatment time varies depending on the size of the area, ranging from 15 minutes for smaller areas (e.g., underarms) to 60 minutes for larger areas (e.g., legs or back).

After Your Treatment

Avoid Sun Exposure
Protect the treated area with sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) and avoid direct sun exposure for at least 2 weeks post-treatment.

Soothe the Skin
Apply a gentle moisturizer or aloe vera gel to the treated area to alleviate redness or sensitivity.

Avoid Heat and Irritation
Refrain from hot showers, saunas, swimming pools, or vigorous exercise for 24-48 hours after treatment.

No Waxing or Plucking
Do not remove hair from the root in between sessions. Shaving is allowed if needed.

Mild Shedding
Treated hairs will gradually shed over the next 1-2 weeks. Avoid scrubbing or exfoliating the area until the skin has fully healed.

Avoid Harsh Products
Do not use retinoids, exfoliants, or other harsh skincare products on the treated area for 5-7 days.

Expected Results

Gradual Reduction
After the first session, you’ll notice a reduction in hair growth, with treated hairs becoming finer and lighter.

Long-Term Benefits
With a full series of treatments, most patients achieve significant, long-lasting hair reduction in the treated area.

Maintenance
Occasional maintenance sessions may be needed to address new or dormant hair follicles.

Treatment Frequency

Recommended Series
A series of 6-8 treatments is typically needed, spaced 4-6 weeks apart for facial areas and 6-8 weeks apart for body areas.

Maintenance
Maintenance sessions can be scheduled every 6-12 months, depending on your hair growth cycle and individual needs.

FAQs

Please read our FAQs page to find out more.

How does laser hair removal work?

Laser hair removal uses targeted laser energy to heat and destroy hair follicles, preventing future hair growth. The treatment is precise, effective, and can be customized for various skin types and hair colors.

What areas can be treated with laser hair removal?

Laser hair removal can be performed on virtually any part of the body, including the face, underarms, arms, legs, bikini area, back, and chest. It’s a versatile treatment for both small and large areas.

How many laser hair removal sessions will I need?

Most clients need 6 to 8 sessions spaced about 4 to 6 weeks apart for optimal results. The exact number of treatments depends on factors such as hair color, hair thickness, and the treatment area.

Is laser hair removal permanent?

Laser hair removal significantly reduces hair growth and provides long-lasting results. While it’s not always completely permanent, treated hair grows back finer and lighter, and many clients require only occasional maintenance sessions to stay hair-free.
